Eden is 7 years old and her father contacted Robohand in February 2012 after reading about our Project in the Popular Mechanics SA. Eden was born with Amniotic Band Syndrome, which means she has no fingers on her right hand as they were “strangled” by the amniotic bands in the womb so her limbs could not grow.

After the work that was done with Liam, Richard took Eden under his wing. For a seven year old she is particularly small and her hand was smaller than Liam’s at age 4. There was a new challenge now to see if he could resize the mechanical hand and ensure it still operated correctly.

After much prototyping Eden arrived for her fitting and left with her Pink Robohand. It is quite an emotional journey as she can now pick up things with her hand that she could never use before.
